The search optimization industry is all a buzz today thanks to Google’s open invitation for web developers and power searchers to offer feedback on its latest update. Named “Caffeine,” this update is reported to focus more on Google’s indexing systems, however significant changes in ranking have been seen during spot checks.
Matt Cutts blogged about this update giving information you’ll need if you want to preview the update and offer your own opinions. You can also find info on Google’s Official Blog. Neither of which gives a tremendous amount of info.
The update is not live as of yet.
My first impressions are so-so. I certainly haven’t typed in every possible keyphrase, but of the ones I have played with, I’ve seen results pages that are completely off to those that seem more relevant than searches I’ve done in past months. It’s a good thing they haven’t released it to the public yet 🙂
