My introduction to Helium 10 was about four years ago, when I discovered a truly unique tool to help with Amazon listing optimization. (Something the Marketing Words’ team needed for the listings we create.)
Helium 10 Frankenstein
It is called Frankenstein (clever name) and it was exactly what we needed at the time. Helium 10 Frankenstein is a keyword processor that takes lists of arbitrary keywords (from small lists to massive) and cleans them up. Fast. As in, in seconds.
You can remove words, sort in a ton of ways, including:
- Removing special characters
- Preserving numbers
- Removing duplicates
- Adding or removing commas
- Removing words starting with or containing a word
- And lots more!
So, when we would finish the keyword research and have multiple spreadsheets to deal with, we could upload them into Helium 10 Frankenstein, click a few boxes and – PRESTO! – a single, manageable keyword list.
No more going blind trying to manually remove duplicates or looking for particular phrases that did or did not contain certain words. It made our lives so much easier!
And I thought the folks at Helium 10 were prodigies. Little did I know that they had far greater things in store.

Helium 10 Scribbles
The next stroke of genius revealed from Helium 10 was Scribbles. While Frankenstein did a phenomenal job at organizing the keywords into cohesive lists, the trouble we as Amazon copywriters had was keeping up with the use of keywords as we included them into the listing copy.
I was so excited to discover the brilliant way Scribbles allowed us to keep up with keywords as we wrote. Here are some examples:
- After you do your keyword research and paste or import your keyword list into Scribbles, it shows you a list of your individual keywords with duplicates removed, and also your keyphrases. Handy!
- You’ll find spaces to type your title, bullet, and description copy as well as a space for the Search Terms field and 5 Subject Matter fields. As you’re typing, you can add emojis with just a click! You can also see how many characters you’ve typed and change the capitalization with one click.
- Here’s what I truly love! As you type and enter each keyword into a title, bullet, or other field, it is automatically lined through in the keyword list so you know it was used. Likewise, if you remove a keyword from any of the fields, it will be automatically inserted back into your keyword list. You’ll never lose a keyword again and you’ll never go blind trying to figure out if you already entered a keyword!
When you’re done, you can export everything to upload to Amazon or copy/paste into your listing.
Helium 10 Scribbles saves us so much time and keeps our stress to a minimum.
Helium 10 Cerebro Reverse ASIN
But I might have gotten a little ahead of myself. Of course, you would need to find the keywords before you could insert them into your listing.
Helium 10 is also what we use for keyword research, starting a Cerebro Reverse ASIN search.
Just paste in the ASIN and Cerebro goes to work. But unlike ordinary reverse ASIN tools, Cerebro goes above and beyond what you would expect.
In addition to the typical information you would expect, including the search volume and competition, Helium 10’s Cerebro also includes these smart datapoints:

- Search Volume Trend – For the last 30 days.

Plus, Cerebro offers up helpful info, including products frequently bought together, individual word frequency, distribution data, and the ability to sort / search by Cerebro IQ Score, Word Count, Match Type, Amazon Choice, search volume, or organic rank.
Helium 10 Magnet 2 Keyword Research
While the reverse ASIN search is helpful and gives direction, it’s not the only source for keywords. Once the Cerebro reverse ASIN search has been done, we turn our attention to Helium 10’s Magnet 2 keyword research tool.
Just enter a keyword (or two, or three) and you’ll instantly see the same datapoints provided in Cerebro searches
