Besides monthly searches & competition, I think one should check country from where the searches are coming. This helps define target audience, doesn’t it? And not have illusions about the volume of people searching for the keywords. I mean, if I see many Indians or Philipinos searching for the keyword, I understand that they have many orders for $1 articles for crappy websites, but not that there are armies of consumers searching for that particular keyword. Am I thinking right on this?
Hi Helenee. Yes, in certain circumstances, knowing the country where searches originated could play into target audience discovery. No one factor should be the determining factor. They all need to be considered collectively. Also, attaching assumptions to keyphrases just because they came from a certain geographic region can be a dangerous practice.
