Two websites, both owned by the same business, targeting the same demographic, getting about the same search traffic, but with different conversion rates. The question—why would the clunky older site outperform the shiny newer site?

I’ve wanted to know this for a VERY long time, and the demonstration between the two sites illustrated this perfectly.
After all, design is a subdivision of marketing, and not vice versa. (All in the psychological tactics.)
