In this video, I’ll walk you through the good and bad points of an assignment one of my copywriting coaching clients turned in. You’ll discover the “what” and “why” of writing great website copy and pick up a tip or two to use in your own copywriting.
Great review..how do you resolve the dilemma about how much copy to place on the home page vs just enough to grab visitors’ attention then link to an internal page to receive the rest of the content? Seems like that could have been done in this example.
Use the F.A.C.E. formula outlined in the Step-by-Step Copywriting Course. It’s in Module 3. You have to test. For this assignment, they were instructed to write 1 page of copy. But, yes, it would have been perfectly feasible to put a little copy on the Home page and the rest on other pages. Testing is key. With the exception of B2B copy, that’s the only way to tell.
I really enjoyed this video – mainly because it was a video. Now, I know that statement sounds daft, but when it comes to finding information on how to create quality SEO copywriting, the majority of the information available that I’ve found has been all written and hard to learn from. Having a real-life case study analysed in front of me like this was a really nice change of pace and I feel I’ve taken a lot from it! :)a
Thanks Trent! Glad it helped you out.
