Great topic! This is exactly the question I’ve been trying to find the answer to. One of my sites is in a pet related niche and so this helps immensely in understanding what approach to take in figuring out who my ideal customer is, etc. Thanks!
Hello, Karon. What a delightful video. You did a good job and your lighting was superb on your face. Your idea of finding common denominators with cat lovers by looking at compassion is a good example of what I’ve been trying to find with people who love baskets. I think of collectibles, etc., but I can’t seem to hone in on one emotion like compassion. Any ideas? I have looked at myself and examined how I feel when I see a great basket. The feeling is exciting and sometimes I feel like a little girl in a candy store. Other than that, I can’t seem to identify how I feel. May be it’s because I’m not the best at communicating my feelings. Oh, I just thought of something – whimsical. I don’t think that’s really a feeling; more of an idea like fantasy. So what’s the feeling of whimsical? Fun, lighthearted, fairy like, I don’t know. These terms are still not feelings. They’re descriptions of ideas. I suppose these could describe the passion of collecting baskets. Maybe that’s it. If you’re really a basket lover, these words could describe the passion that one feels when finding a great find. I still would like to use an emotion to help find that common denominator you talk about. Thanks for sharing. I haven’t thought of looking at groups this way before. Thank you for your time in reading this message. Take care. Happy Summer from Alaska! Rosella Young
Hi Karon,
Love that your kitty got a guest star 🙂 I like what you say about looking for common denominators. You can also look for universal truths or things that people would like to be true about themselves. For example, most people would like to believe that they are compassionate, so if you speak to them as though they are and compliment them on it, you both win.

You’re a pet lover, too? I am big time!

How about delight? Or bliss? Maybe gleeful? This list might give you some ideas. http://www.sonoma.edu/users/s/swijtink/teaching/philosophy_101/paper1/listemotions.htm

Hi Isla,
Sorry for the late reply. I didn’t see this comment. Yes, Holly make a guest appearance 🙂 Good point. Thanks for the suggestion.
