Great video! I would add that people need to consider the intention behind the keyword searches they analyze. For example, if people search the term “virtual assistant” 50,000 times per month and search the term “hire virtual assistant” only 2,000 times per month, it does not necessarily make the more highly searched term the best term to target. People searching for “virtual assistant” might be looking for information on what a virtual assistant does or how to become a virtual assistant. People searching “hire virtual assistant” are more than likely looking to purchase the services of a virtual assistant. The latter group is a target market because they have expressed an intent to purchase, so the researcher might be better off targeting that term, even though the estimated search volume is much lower.
Correct, Jenny. Very often, more targeted keyphrases bring in much higher conversions. In a short video, there’s just not time to cover everything 🙂
