If you’re one of those people who is “not into testing,” you’re missing out on a lot of information that could make you more sales, reduce expenses and boost your business in ways you haven’t thought about.
Contrary to popular belief, basic testing doesn’t have to be hard. Even simple measures can pay off big time. Got five minutes? Watch the video.
Resources Mentioned in the Video
Marketing Words: Website copywriting, landing pages, social media posts, ecommerce copywriting, PPC ads, online marketing consulting and more.
Aweber – List management service with split-testing capabilities. This is what I use and love it. There is also Constant Contact, Mail Chimp and others.
Great video Karen..I’m guilty of not testing primarily because it’s boring and takes time to implement. On the other hand I tend to trust what the so-called guru’s say when they sell a product then realize later the product didn’t work as promised. What tool would you recommend for testing sales page headlines, copy, etc. I didn’t see your resources?
Maybe I’m just weird, but I think testing is cool! We sent out a test email the other day and I thought it was oh-so neat that we could split test the subject line 3 ways. Then I logged into my Aweber account and see:
> Which subject line pulled the best response
> How many people bought from each one of the subject lines
With that info, I know how to move forward. I won’t waste my time running emails (or social media posts or writing headlines or other short copy) that don’t work. That makes me more money and making money is F U N ! !
I’ve added the resources now. I don’t have a tool for testing headlines, etc., but I do have a course for how to write them. What you can do to test is run a small AdWords campaign (or Bing PPC ads or Facebook) to see which headlines get more clicks.
